商品詳細 - Title: Hamlet's Mill: An Essay on Myth & the Frame of Time - Authors: Giorgio de Santillana and Hertha von Dechend - Subtitle: A Journey Back Through Myth to the Origins of Human Knowledge in the Preliterate World Hardcover, English text, very good condition. Very rare and hard to find first printing. "Hamlet's Mill: An Essay on Myth and the Frame of Time," by Giorgio de Santillana and Hertha von Dechend, argues that ancient myths are not simply stories, but rather encoded records of pre-literate astronomical knowledge, specifically the phenomenon of precession of the equinoxes. The book proposes that early civilizations possessed sophisticated astronomical understanding, which they transmitted through symbolic narratives, often involving celestial mills or rotating mechanisms. The title refers to the Old Icelandic kenning "Amlóða kvern," which the authors interpret as a symbolic representation of the heavens rotating around the celestial pole. 商品の情報 カテゴリー:本・雑誌・漫画>>>本>>>洋書 商品の状態: 目立った傷や汚れなし 細かな使用感・傷・汚れはあるが、目立たない
